O' Henry Slice

An excellent bar. Best served the next day as the graham crackers soften and become a layer in the bar. They also freeze well.

Beer Cake II

A wonderfully delicious chocolate cake with subtle beer overtone.

Drupey Pie

Submitted by: Karen
I added fresh, ripe nectarines and apricots to this sour cherry pie. These fruits are drupe fruits meaning they are fleshy with a hard stone or seed in the middle. The pie was summery and delicious! I really like to use turbinado sugar--it's less processed and has a good flavor--but white sugar would be fine, too.

No one can resist a slice (or two!) of this tart 'cherry-berry' pie. Growing up, my sister and I requested this pie for our birthdays instead of cake. Now it's a favorite of my own family. -Mari Anne Warren Milton, Wisconsin

Fresh Summer Fruit Salad

Fresh fruit is tossed in homemade rhubarb sauce for a delicious, and fruity alternative to regular fruit salad! One day I decided to stir some rhubarb sauce into my fruit salad - and LOVED the result. The rhubarb sauce keeps fruits from turning brown too.

This cheery coffee cake is an all-time favorite with my seven grandchildren. The latticed top showcases the cherries so beautifully that it's almost too pretty to eat.

Sweet, slushy and sensational, this version of the tropical drink combines crushed pineapple with juice, pina colada mix, rum, vanilla ice cream, and whipping cream as inspired by a creation at Lulu's, a popular restaurant in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

So many cherries are produced during cherry harvest that I created a savory recipe, because there's only so much cherry pie and ice cream one man can eat!

You 'll be able to tell that this is a prize-winning recipe. The crust is flaky and buttery, the cherry filling is thick and perfectly sweetened, and there 's a lovely hint of almond extract.

If you 've never eaten a fresh cherry pie, you 're in for a treat with this recipe. It 's a bit of work to pit the cherries, but once this is done, there 's not much left to do: mix the cherries with almond and vanilla extracts, sugar and tapioca

Simple and sweet, this cobbler will garner raves. Cherries simply go in the bottom of the pan along with some baking powder dough and a sugary cornstarch syrup. Then altogether they bake up sweet, bubbly and delicious. Serve it warm with whipped cream.

Who would have thought? Blueberries and cherries in the same pie. But they 're divine together. You 'll have to pit the cherries, but it should be a labor of love. The berries are sugared, dusted with flour and cinnamon, and dotted with butter. The oven takes care of the rest.

Slices of sugared fresh fruit - peaches, pears, plums, and cherries - are piled into a large casserole dish and covered with a sweet batter. Thirty minutes later, the cobbler emerges bubbling, fragrant, and golden brown.

Sangria by the Pros

Submitted by: PAULHAYWARD
I found a good sangria recipe and headed to the liquor store to purchase the alcohol. In line, ahead of me, was a man who said he has been a bartender for twenty years now, and that the recipe needed a few touch-ups if I wanted to make it like the Pros. So, here is what he professed to me, muchos thanks to the other submitters for their delicious versions.
